He loved to compete, and he was a fierce competitor. Jason Loughman, Head Track and Field Coach says this, “The thing I remember most about Benny is his love for competition. His generosity is evident through his extensive work with youth football and generous donations to Westerville Central High School.”īenny also was a member of the basketball team during his time as a Warhawk and his coach Donovon Barrett summarized Benny this way, “One of the fiercest competitors I’ve coached in any sport.” ![]() His work ethic has allowed him tremendous success at Kentucky and in the NFL. Benny was on the first Warhawk team to win a playoff game (2013), the schools first 10 win season (2013) and first 11 win season (2014). Benny also has the school record for rushing touchdowns in a game with 5 and total touchdowns in a season with 29. In his career he totalled 4,304 yards and 65 touchdowns – 60 of those coming on the ground. In his senior season he rushed for a school record 2,077 yards and scored 26 touchdowns. On the football field Benny holds several school records. Everyone saw his rugged way of playing football!” What a football player! When he went to Kentucky he became the pride of Lexington. Benny was a tremendous competitor who raised his teammates to new heights and many times carried them on his back to victory.įormer Warhawks Head Football Coach John Magistro has this to say about Benny, “In all my years of coaching, I have never seen anyone approach practice or games with more focus and toughness than Benny. He was as intense in the weight room, on the practice field, on the court and on the track as he was on game day. No one prepared, practiced, played or competed like Benny. During his time as a Warhawk he played Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track and Field.
